My past listings on ebay

Today I would like to share with you some of my past listings on ebay.  I have always enjoyed collecting old & vintage items, before they were called primitives.  What are called primitives today were part of my every day life years ago.  Things my generation used daily.   It gives me a funny feeling to see some of the the vintage things  now called "antiques".   The older I get the more I realize many of these things will no longer be in existence if they get discarded. I want to pass down an appreciation of these old things so they will continue to reflect our past.   I have always used old things as accent pieces in my home but I have never completely decorated my home with the primitive look.  Many of the items I find in antique shops or flea market are cleaned up and given some TLC so it can be displayed and used with any decor.  When I first started on ebay I did tole painting on some of the items.  My main purpose when I find an unique item is to give the piece new life and be able to pass it down to the next generation.

Hope you enjoy looking at some of my photos.  You can always find me on ebay - my user name is sunnydaz8

You can also find me on picture trail or follow me on pinterest

Both links can be found on the about me part of this blog.

This is one of my early listings on ebay.  It is a vintage stool I found at a yard sale.  I hand-painted sheep &  an old barn on it to give it a different look to be displayed with any type of decor.
We found this old galvanized oil can but it had a tiny pin hole in it so my husband re purposed it into a lamp.  He wired it up and we put a candle fixture in the top to give it a new look.  We spared this old oil can from the dump and ready to pass on to the next generation.

We re purposed this old clam fork into a useful hook to hang brooms, baskets, or any other item.  It could be used in any room with any decor.

I love when I find these old wood crates.  They are getting harder to find since we live in a world of plastic & cardboard.  I re purposed this old crate into a useful wall shelf.  I left it in the original condition so you can see the years of use this crate has given to all the owners in the past.  Again, this is a great item to pass down to the next generation.

This old crate was found at a barn sale.  My husband made the drawer at the bottom from recycled wood and another crate was saved from the dump and ready to pass on to the next generation.

This is a vintage wall box I added some TLC to.  I cleaned it up and gave the paint a worn layered look exposing the original paint that is under the black.  The vintage box is hand crafted and I thought it was a nice piece to pass down to the next generation.

I found this vintage firkin and it no longer had the lid.  I painted it black and I  hand painted sheep on canvas and than mounted it to the front of the firkin.  It now can be displayed with any decor and still be useful

Old crate great to display your old brooms.  The crate with lid and old hinges was left in its original condition, we did add a hanger to the back to make it easy to display.

All the items featured above have been sold on ebay.

This has been fun to go through some of my old pictures and see how far I have come on the quest to help re cycle the things that will be forever lost unless we give them new purpose and pass them down to the next generation.  I am so happy my picture taking has also improved.

My grand children have caught the bug and they now enjoy collecting.  They also love when I have restored, refinished, repainted or hand painted an item and give it to them as a gift.  These are memories they will have the rest of their lives, which is so important to me.

Hope you enjoyed this presentation and before discarding something, see if you can give it new purpose or new meaning and pass it down.
